This year I had the pleasure of attending Fort Lauderdale Fashion Week. I had the time of my life and met so many amazing people from a variety of backgrounds who work in the fashion industry. I’m used to talking to different bloggers and influencers on Instagram; however, I did not know anyone who worked as a designer, model, or photographer. I had originally planned on attending only the Bloggers Brunch, as it was the only event I had heard about, but what was just one event turned into me attending three completely different events throughout the week. Fashion Week always mystified me growing up, it seemed so glamorous and exciting. I always wondered what it would be like to go but never imagined I would ever actually be invited. Fast forward to now and I have embarked on my first Fashion Week journey. A lot of people had many questions and wanted to hear more about my experience so I am going to dedicate this blog post to all things Fort Lauderdale Fashion Week 2020.

. FLLFW 2020 Bloggers Brunch

This brunch was like nothing I have ever been to before. There was a cute entrance at the front for people to stop and take photos, racks and racks of clothing, a station by Paul Mitchell for hair, brunch foods galore, and tons of mimosas. It was like walking into every fashionistas dream. I have to admit, I was nervous at first and had gone to the event completely alone, but after being there for 5 minutes girls were already introducing themselves to me and welcoming me to the event. Everyone was so sweet, making networking and making friends easy. It was at this event that I learned of some of the other Fashion Week events.

. Opening Night Party and FLLFW 2020 Magazine Cover Reveal

This was one of the more formal and networking based events. With this event came cocktails and hors d’oeuvres galore. Everyone dressed to the nines to celebrate the FLLFW 2020 magazine cover, which btw was amazing!

. Day 1 Runway Fashion Show

This was my first ever fashion show and boy was I excited. I was originally planning on attending the last fashion show; however, I got lucky and won the raffle from the Bloggers Brunch and got VIP seating for this show. Having VIP seating allowed me to get an up close view of the new collections. Some of the collections I saw were G. Destin, Hot Miami Styles, Beatrice Rose Designs, VZA By Vee, Elio Rojas, Luis Aponte, and Sharon OSP. All of the designs were unique and beautiful in their own way. Overall, the show was an amazing experience and has fueled my passion for fashion even more. This year was FLLFW 2020, maybe NYFW will be next!

Until next time. XOXO,

Brianna Harvey
