It’s a new year, so that means a fresh start for the 30 days of outfits blog posts. Let me be among the first to say Happy New Year! After the year that was 2020, I think we all could use this fresh start as a chance to press reset. Regardless of what high hopes we had last year or what this year will bring, one thing for sure is that this is everyone’s year. Because the year just began, and we are the ones in charge of making it great.

With all that said, I wanted to start this year on the right foot. I attempted to do 30 days of outfits in 2020 but never completed it. I know, I know, how can I not complete it. Only doing half of it was a horrible feeling. But this year, I am determined to step it up and complete all 30 (or 28, 31) days of outfits from January to December. The fashion is going to the next level this year, and I’m taking you guys with me.

If you’re wondering how I’m actually going to complete all 12 months’ worth of outfits, I don’t blame you. That’s 365 outfits!! One thing that has motivated me is my 2021 vision board. It’s my first year completing one, but I believe it’s giving me motivation and helping me manifest what I want to get out of this year. If you have seen these all over Instagram and want to make one of your own, stay tuned. I will dedicate a blog post to how I made mine and what you can use your vision board for.

Outfit 1/365: Oversized Blazer

For my first look of the year, day 1 out of 365, I went with a timeless piece: an oversized blazer. I have been dying to wear this blazer for months now. I got it gifted to me from Dresswel Official in 2019 but could never find a way to style it. Fast forward to New Year’s Eve, and I figured it out. You can see the look below:

Oversized Blazer Styled

I paired the oversized blazer with a black long sleeved crop top; it was cold in Florida for once. I then added in a black mini skirt with this silver detail on the front. I got it as a gift from my mom, who bought it at Target about a year ago. The oversized blazer was long, but not long enough to avoid wearing some pants or skirt. Then, I put a wide belt over the blazer to cinch my waist and add some edge to the look. The wide belt is from Target; however, a similar one can get purchased almost anywhere.

Next, I added in some black Dr. Martens to complete the look. I went with this kind of shoe because the NYE event was casual, and I wanted to look polished but be comfortable. I enjoyed this look and even wore it again a few days later to shoot some pictures of it in a parking garage. The oversized blazer look has always been a favorite of mine because of everything you can do with it, but I have only attempted it this once.

Extra Inspiration

With that said, I know it seems easy to style but can sometimes be quite the opposite. For more oversized blazer style inspiration, check out Pinterest. The inspiration is never-ending on that app/website. In the meantime, stay tuned for January 2021 31 Days of Outfits: Day 2. XOXO,
