Something most of us have in common is that we want to be on trend this summer. And if you spend hours scrolling through TikTok as I do, then you have probably seen everyone posting their take on the summer trends. Some people have even gone as far as to beg Emma Chamberlain to make a video with her opinion. But I don’t know about you guys, but I am not patient enough for that. So, I have done my research and will fill you in on one of the hottest trends this summer: monochrome.

Monochrome is all the rage lately and seems to be everywhere. Whether bright pastels or more your style or earthy neutrals are your jam, you can rock the monochrome trend. Monochrome, or monochromatic, is when you wear all of the same color from head to toe in different or the same shades. The only exception where people break the monochrome theme is with accessories. My look in this post is monochrome with various shades of pink. I break the pink shades with white shoes to avoid overkill.

I know monochrome is a bold trend and can be out of many people’s comfort zone. But, if you start small with a gray, white, black, or beige outfit, you can get more comfortable with it. Or if you want to go big or go home, try out some brighter colors, such as pink, yellow, purple, and more. Also, keep in mind that its summer and bright colors are stylish. A bright monochrome outfit won’t be as out of place as you may think it is.

A pastel monochrome outfit won’t be as out of place as you may think it is.

To make this look possible, I got the pink jeans from Shein, the pink crop top from Forever 21, the pink purse is from Juicy Couture, but I bought it second-hand on Depop, and the chunky shoes are from NastyGal. The overall cost of the look was affordable, too. The only item I recently purchased was the pink jeans. With monochrome being shades of one color, it was easy to find a pink top to pair with the jeans.
